2-Seat 9D VR Egg Chair — enclosed motion cinema

Two riders sit inside a closed pod on a 3,500 W motion base. The shell blocks the surrounding hall, the seats move with the film, and the whole unit occupies 3.90 m² of floor.

It arrives as a single unit: frame, shell, motion base, headsets and a preloaded library. There is no booth to build and no separate projection room, which is why it fits into a mall corridor as readily as into a dedicated VR zone.

  • Two seats per cycle. Both riders share the same film and the same motion.
  • Enclosed shell. The pod isolates the riders from the hall around them.
  • 80+ titles preloaded. The operator picks what runs.

01 / Overview

What a VR egg chair is, and where it fits

A VR egg chair is a seated cinema with a motion base. Two riders are strapped into a pod, put on headsets, and watch a short film while the seat moves with what they see. Unlike an open-frame machine, the shell closes around the riders, so the surrounding hall does not compete with the film.

The practical consequence is placement. Because the unit is closed, self-contained and 3.90 m² in footprint, it works in positions where a larger attraction would not: next to a cinema entrance, inside a family zone, at the end of a mall corridor, or as the second machine beside an existing VR area.

Boarding, headsets, and the cycle itself

The clip shows the unit in a public venue: riders taking the two seats, headsets fitted by the attendant, the shell closed, and the motion running under the film. It is the sequence an operator needs to understand, because the turnaround between groups is what sets hourly capacity.

The rest of the cycle runs as follows.

Boarding. Two riders take the seats; the attendant fits headsets and checks the straps.
Title choice. The operator selects the film for that group from the library.
Cycle. The shell closes and the seats run with the film. The attendant stays within sight of the pod.
Exit. Headsets are collected and wiped; the next pair boards.
Between groups. Seat surfaces and headsets are cleaned, and the next title is queued.

03 / Motion

What the motion base does, and why the shell matters

The unit runs a 3,500 W motion platform under the two seats. Movement is tied to the film rather than to a fixed loop, so the seat follows turns, drops and impacts as they happen on screen. That synchronisation is the part riders notice; without it, a seated attraction reads as a video on a moving chair.

The shell does the second half of the work. A closed pod removes the visual noise of the venue — other machines, lighting, passing visitors — which is what allows a short film to hold attention in a busy hall. It also keeps the sound in, so two units can run side by side without competing.

Seated motion

Two riders, one motion base, movement matched to the film rather than a preset loop.

Closed shell

Blocks the surrounding hall so the film holds attention in a busy venue.

Contained sound

Two pods can run next to each other without audio bleeding between them.

Sheet metal build

Industrial sheet metal body rather than an open frame.

04 / Space

Footprint, clearance and power

The unit measures 3200 mm wide, 1220 mm deep and 1830 mm high, with a footprint of 3.90 m². Access matters as much as footprint: the unit is delivered assembled, so the route from the delivery point to the final position has to clear the same dimensions, and the door or lift along that route is the usual constraint.

Leave room in front of the pod for boarding and for the queue. The exact power supply and any ventilation requirement are confirmed against your site before the order is placed; the electrical design is signed off by your licensed electrician, and we supply the load figures for that discussion.

05 / Content

The preloaded library

The unit ships with more than 80 commercial titles preloaded, spanning roller coasters, flight, underwater and family themes. The operator chooses which title runs for which group, so the same machine serves a family pair in the afternoon and a thrill-seeking pair in the evening without changing hardware.

Title lists, language options and any additions are confirmed at the quotation stage. Because the library is part of what the operator sells, it is worth deciding the initial selection before the unit ships rather than after installation.

Reviews

What operators say about the egg chair

Swipe to see more →

★★★★★

We put two units beside the cinema entrance. The closed shell is what sold it: people walking past cannot see the screen, so they queue to find out what is happening. Wiping headsets between groups is the only real labour.

Nuria P., FEC manager, Zaragoza
★★★★☆

Footprint was the reason we chose it. 3.9 m² fitted a spot we had written off. Seats are fine for adults, though the cabin is tight if both riders are over 190 cm.

Diego M., arcade owner, Malaga
★★★★★

Titles matter more than the hardware. We change the film every two weeks and the same machine keeps drawing. Children ask for the underwater one by name.

Claire B., leisure park operator, Nantes
★★★★☆

Installation took one day once the power was in place. The lift was the problem, not the unit. Measure the delivery route before ordering, not just the floor.

Tomasz K., venue manager, Krakow

07 / Questions

Questions operators ask

How many riders go at once?

Two, seated side by side in the same pod.

Do we need a dedicated room?

No. The shell closes around the riders, so the unit works in a shared hall, next to a cinema entrance or inside a family zone.

How long does one cycle take?

The length of the selected title plus boarding and cleaning. The operator sets the pace between groups.

What content is included?

More than 80 commercial titles are preloaded, covering roller coaster, flight, underwater and family themes.

Can we choose which titles run?

Yes. The operator selects the title per group, so the same unit serves different audiences through the day.

What power supply does it need?

Confirmed against your site before the order; the electrical design is signed off by your electrician and we supply the load figures.

What maintenance is involved?

Headsets are wiped between groups; seats and the motion base are checked on a routine schedule. Remote diagnostics and spare parts come from our own stock.

What support is included?

Remote diagnostics, video support while staff are on the floor, spare parts and after-sales maintenance. Terms are agreed with your sales contact.
